My Favorite “Homes” | Switzerland

I call many places home. I grew up and returned to Minnesota. My family is there, and my memories are there. Minnesota is familiar and I’m content there. Illinois holds my friends, also viewed as family. I’d call Becca Martin’s home my home, Judson University still feels like my home, and I will always welcome places like Chicago with open arms. But Switzerland is a different kind of home. When I visit I feel refreshed and vibrant. I feel like I could sit in the park and read my book or I could be hiking a nearby mountain and feel just as content. Switzerland has the beauty which far surpasses that of northern Minnesota. It holds extended family where I am welcome to stay. And it has adventure and opportunities. Though it is no more my home than my midwest states, it has a strong and secured place on my list.
