Where did the past month go?! Today is my “One Month Anniversary” since I left my full-time job and decided to jump into the unknown and reach for the stars I had been staring at for so long. Let’s be honest though, I’m an enneagram 6, it wasn’t unknown, I did the numbers and worked it every which way: I was set. This was the right choice.
Since my last day at my job, I’ve had:
Guys. ELEVEN. In 4 weeks. Everyone always said “Jump and the net will appear”. My net was basically attached to the same number of balloons that carried the house in UP… Opportunities started popping up out of nowhere and it was the easiest transition I could have hoped for. The 11 jobs I’ve had in the past month have pushed me in ways I haven’t been pushed before and opened my eyes to new aspects of my business and even more reason why I love what I do. Being asked by someone to “tell their story” doesn’t seem like a huge deal at first. But then you realize: this is a moment they want documented for ever. This is huge for them. Once you have that realization, it isn’t something you take lightly! Those 11 jobs were 11 reasons that I know I’m doing the right thing.
I’ve loved every minute of the past 4 weeks and I’ll be taking it day by day, month by month, and year by year. Am I going to do this forever? Who knows. All I know is I’m in the right place right now: Ready to tell stories.
Here is a little sneak peek into what those “11 Reasons” (plus some) looked like. Four photos that I felt represented each session or wedding that I photographed. 4 little reasons why each story was so important. Some are business, some are personal. All of them were so fun to photograph.
A huge shoutout to my girls Kaia and Alli who, for the first time in the history of my business, photographed a wedding all on their own while I was away at a different wedding. They rocked it : )
