Ally’s Dance Photos

Ally came to the studio and we got to document her love of dance. It is so fun working with pro dancers and even more fun working with your sister. Here are her thoughts on her session with me.

“I had the BEST time working with Rachel during my dance photoshoot. A huge plus that she’s a stellar photographer and an even bigger bonus that she’s my sister (I’m not biased at all 😏). I love that dance is a special something that we get to share. We spent the session laughing, playing with creative ideas, and switching through fun outfit changes.

Rachel knows how to capture dance so well because she was, and always will be, a dancer herself! (Little Ally definitely wanted to be as good as her big sis one day). She understands how to photograph dancers at the peak of movement like a fully stretched leg or a finished line. She also has such a great eye for suggesting poses, making small corrections, and helping shape lines so everything looks its best on camera. Because sometimes things can look different on camera than they feel! 

At the same time, Rachel created space for me to just move and express myself through improvised movement, which made the whole experience feel natural and artistic to me.

I’m so beyond happy with these photos and will treasure them as a beautiful way to capture this season of my dance career. ✨”
