Corona has swooped in and dismantled all aspects of everyone’s lives – including ALL things wedding planning. So what should you do? The only right answer is up to you, but we’ve got options for you and ideas rolling around so you don’t feel like corona has ruined your wedding day! So what are your options? So what CAN you do? Pending quarantine orders, you can still get married – your own unique way! There are so many options for you. Take a peek at some of these:
Some of my absolute favorite weddings have taken place in backyards. It’s cozy and intimate and so special to you! This wedding was in Sam + Joseph’s backyard and it was so personal and special! Their day was so smooth and beautiful!
Find a park, get married in your home, head outside! You can do this anywhere! Keep your date, the party can wait, and do the dang thing. I’d say it holds so much more weight to share your vows at a time when things are less than perfect, but you are sharing your love anyways and proving your point – you are together through thick and thin, no matter what. This is the “no matter what”. We did Becca + Mike’s session on the St Croix River and it was so beautiful and special to them. They were specifically looking for nature as their backdrop for this day!
Pack your bags, tell your photographer, wait out this monster of a virus and then jump on the first (safe) flights to anywhere. Let your photographer know your plans and if they are awesome people, they’ll follow you anywhere. Jessie + Jake’s wedding wasn’t last minute, but they did get married amongst their closest friends an family on Maui, Hawaii.
You can celebrate the way you originally wanted to! Just know that you’ll probably have to get married on a Friday or Sunday since many weddings have already been booked out over the coming year.
Whatever you decide you have ONE MORE additional option that you can do in whatever scenario you choose. And in my opinion it is the most important option you have: Have your wedding professionally live-streamed! Des Jardins studio offers wedding live-streaming for $600 flat, but for any wedding affected by Covid-19, we are cutting you a deal. This season has affected everyone in a tough way so we want to help out. We are cutting all live-streaming packages in half for weddings affected by corona, $300 total. You get 2 hours of ceremony live-streaming, plus a half hour beforehand as people are arriving. The live-stream will be run by a video tech and won’t interfere with your photos at all. This option exists to make sure you get to have everyone at your wedding.
I’m here for you
Friends, if you hired great vendors, they’ll be there for you. Heck, I’m here for you. Even if I’m not technically one of your vendors, I’m here to help. I’ve been a part of over 60 weddings and am more than happy to give guidance, advice, and point you in the right direction. Hop onto my contact page and let me know your questions, concerns, and ideas for how to salvage your day!
