My Fave New Barn Venue – Abella’s Grand Opening!

When I heard there was another beautiful barn venue coming to town, my heart started to sing! How lucky are we that we have so many beautiful venues just in our backyard if you live in or around the Twin Cities! It took me 25 minutes to stroll on over to Abella’s grand opening this weekend from my home Stilwater, and not only was it close, but it was a beautiful drive! Abella is located in Chisago City and surrounded by farmland and rolling hills. Doing the drive at sunset was a treat!

Let’s start with the beginning of the wedding day – getting ready. Abella has two separate buildings – a Groom’s Granary and a Bridal Suite. The Granary offers a rustic vibe with ample room for friends to get ready. Vintage clothing racks, fireplaces, and a not-so-vintage TV upstairs make for a comfy-cozy place to suit up!

The Bridal Suite is elegant and sweet, and is attached to the main farmhouse. It has a living room, small kitchen, the perfect space with many mirrors for hair and makeup, and a private changing room to put on your dress!

On to my favorite buildings – the French Country Hall. This building houses elegance and beauty while keeping the farmland charm. I was told that the building can hold up to 300 guests and rental includes round guest tables, cross-back chairs and all the built in beauty like the fireplace, natural light, and dazzling chandeliers! I’m personally drooling over the white interior – anyone else? Just photographers?

Just outside of the French Country Hall is the Courtyard. A beautiful open space and absolutely perfect for cocktail hour. The Courtyard is perfectly situated next to the French Country Hall and easily opens into the Historic Barn for additional cocktail hour space.

Second to the Country Hall, my next favorite piece is the Meadow. It is a 3-acre piece of paradise. Willow trees, open yard, and only a short dirt-road walk from the rest of the buildings. Abella offers a golf cart as well to transport some of your less mobile guests too! Have you been stressing over the chair rentals or maybe which sound system to rent for the ceremony? They have you covered – both come with your rental! I think after the willow trees, my favorite part about the Meadow is the beautiful barn doors that you see below! They add to the mystical nature and create that extra level of magic.

Though the photos don’t even do the venue justice, you can start to understand the beauty that Abella has to offer! You can find their rates easily on their website and 2019/2020 weddings are discounted so jump on over and take a peek for yourself! I’d say that Abella has a lot to offer any kind of wedding and I’m so excited to be able to photograph a wedding there soon!
